BT infinity boasts connection speeds of up to 40 meg download and 5 meg upload on some of it’s tariffs. A massive improvement on the area average download speeds of around 3 meg on adsl broadband.

These faster speeds are achieved by using Fibre to the curb (FTTC) cabling instead of the copper used to provide customers with standard adsl broadband.
